new rules

all players will be tested for speed and steroids

1st time they take them 50 games they cant play

2nd time 100 games they cant play
3rd time lifetime ban from the MLB.

I argee it's time these players play without steroids and prove to all of us that they can and will.

Why didn't they do this before? I hate to stereotype, but wasn't it obvious these guys were takin' steroids when they had HUGE arms, tiny legs and anger issues?

I'm not impressed. When they ban Barry Bonds (and Sammy Sosa, and Mark McGuire, etc.) for life then I'll stand up and take notice. All baseball is doing is covering their asses. They let these players inject themselves sky high when they needed to put butts in the seats and fill their stadiums. Now that people are wise to it, they are scrambling to cover their asses. Let's not sugar coat this "tougher plan", it's nothing but CYA. If Congress wasn't threatening legislation, and the BALCO case hadn't been broken, MLB would simply continue doing what they were doing.

I think it should be zero-tolerance. I mean, come on, what ever happened to just "playing with your heart and soul." Now it's about fame, fortune, and hoes. I can accept that--and maybe even empathize with it--, though, but if you're going to do it, be a real player and do it the honest way.

Heck I'm a giants fan, but I would hate it if bonds broke the record. California has so many teams I don't know who to really root for.

I dont have any problem if bonds brakes the HR record if he does it without steroids thats just him but if he continues to use them i say take away all his hr's and possable hall of fame stuff and ban him forever

(btw i have 4 rookies of berry bonds i want him to brake it so my cards will be worth 1,000s)

Im a ball player and a body builder... First off, I dont support steriod use period. I do have to say, that, using steriods and being HUGE, will not help you hit a 105 MPH fastball. Trust me. Im a big guy and all that mass doesnt help. You still must make contact with the ball for things to happen. You all think that steriods makes these guys hit 600 foot homers? Hell Ive seen little leaguers hit the ball out of 300 foot parks, are they juicing too? lol. Bat speed and ball speed are what launch a ball out of the park, not drugs. Sounds like I support them doesnt it? HELL NO! Because of those whiny rich bitch ball players I cant even buy andro. Which isnt and never was a steriod to begin with. And now even getting simple things like Creatine is becoming a challenge. Those sorry bastards just couldnt play for the love of the game( i hated that movie btw). They had to go and ruin it for not only ball players and fans, but for the weight lifting and exercise related communites too. Why does the whole world have to pay for what "Mr. Barry I didnt know it was steriods cream Bonds" has done. How can you not know? Lets see Barry, you are 40+ years old, and gaining 20lbs of muscle in 6 months...HELLO!!! Common sense. Sosa is the same way. Anybody remember him on the Rangers? He was so thin you could thread him through a needle. Now hes Sammy Schwarzenegger.
As far as Big Mac goes... He was always a big dude. Didnt any of you see him in the early 80's on the olympic team? He was huge then. And he was smashing the ball at that point. And dont stereotype steriod users with the big upper body and pencil legs... McGuire had huge legs. Anyway, guys like Bonds and Palmero might break records, but there will always be that doubt, that skeptisism, and that is worse than any punishment and greater than any accomplishment.
